Kolin reissu / A trip to Koli (27-28.7.2017)

Otimme avovaimoni ja hänen vanhempiensa kanssa suunnaksi Kolin Kansallispuiston Lieksassa Torstai aamuna 27.7.2017.

Vuokrattuna Sokos Hotellista 2kpl 2h huoneita. Tiesin jo etukäteen, että erittäin suurella todennäköisyydellä itse en tulisi huoneessa aikaa juuri viettämään.

Saavuimme hotellille n.klo.17, siirsimme tavarat autosta huoneisiin ja avovaimon kanssa ryntäsimme kylpylän tiloihin.

Siellä aikamme lilluttuamme ja saunottuamme, vilkaisin kelloa ja ilmoitin, että kohta pitää suunnistaa Ukko-Kolille ja valmistautua koko yön mittaiseen koitokseen.

Suunnitelmana olikin itselläni jo alunperin nauttia läpi yön kauniista maisemista, auringonlaskusta auringonnousuun.

Takaisin hotellille palasin hieman klo.5:30 jälkeen pe-aamuna.

Virkeänä, mutta silti uupuneena, sillä Lieksalaiset hyttyset eivät tunnu antavan periksi.

Avovaimoni ei yläilmoissa yhtä kauaa viihtynyt, vaan empä siltikään ollut täysin yksin ajatuksieni kanssa, kuin noin 2h.

Me, my common-law wife (who shall be referred as 'partner' from here on) and her parents, set a heading to Koli National Park in Lieksa, Finland on Thursday morning (July 27th, 2017).

We rented two 2 person rooms from Sokos Hotel. I knew beforehand, that with extremely high propability, I would not be spending much time there during our visit.

We arrived to the hotel at around 5PM, moved our luggage from the car, to our rooms and headed to the Spa downstairs.

After floating in various pools, sitting in various saunas for awhile, I peaked at the time and told her, that we'd have to get moving and get ready for the upcoming night.

My plan from the start, was to enjoy the beautiful view from Ukko-Koli, from sunset to sunrise.

Eventually I made it back to the hotel just after 5:30AM.

Fatiqued, yet still refreshed.. I seems the mosquitos from Lieksa are determined.

My partner did not stay up there for too long though. 

Yet I was completely alone with my thoughts for only about 2h.
